Retrofit Annunciator for Ruston TA Series Gas
Turbines
Part Number PS-5480-01
The unit utilizes a modified Londalert 32 way
annunciator to provide 8 status, 14 warning, and
14 shutdown indication signals from the turbine
permitting all existing channel and additional indications
using the existing cable harness.
The
annuciator's microcomputer scans channels sequentially
receiving either a normally open or close current signal from a pair of contacts indicating
"on" or "off" and "warning"
or "shutdown". The unit can accept
various warning and shutdown indications that
are set on the input and logic board assembly.
The unit has two alarm and shutdown relays for
process control and the reset, acknowledge,
fault accept, klaxon silence, and lamp test
are wired to the existing push buttons in the
cabinet. The unit in basic form can flash warnings
and shutdowns until acknowledged; if another
alarm shows prior to acknowledgement the first
alarm up flashes and the second alarm holds
steady and neither alarm clears until the unit
is reset.
The
unit is easy to operate; there is no flashing
indication for turbine starting; the larger
windows provide much better visual indication
of the turbine status and no special tools are
required to change components or lamps.
The
unit is mounted in the existing cabinet using an
brushed stainless steel adaptor plate.

The existing cable harness is connected to
terminal blocks fitted to the under side of
the new annunciator. These are wired by
additional cable loom to the annunciator
terminal interface cards. Additional
monitoring channels are connected to spare channels
which are shown on the contract installation
drawings. Step by step installation and commissioniing
instructions come with the annunciators.
The
annunciator is housed in a painted mild steel
enclosure which is designed in a standard
19 inch rack.. The front panel swings out
on two hinges and is retained by two captive
screws. The top, bottom and rear panels are
removable for access. The unit is powered
directly by 24 VDC. Input connections are
by two terminal interface boards in the rear
of the unit which also contains the warning
and shutdown relays. The signal processing
is carried out on an input and logic board
assembly mounted behind the front panel. The
display lamps are mounted on the display board
in the front panel; all the circuit boards
are replaceable and interconnected by ribbon
cables.
