Retrofit Flame Viewing System for Ruston TB Series Turbine
Part Number PS-1080-01
The
PSI flame viewing system is an integrated
system comprising flame sensors and amplifiers
electronically matched to ensure optimum performance
for the ultraviolet spectrum of a hydrocarbon
flame. This provides a reliable method of
monitoring the flame in the combustion chambers
of Ruston gas turbines.
The
sensors will respond to UV radiation over
a specific range 190 nm to 260 nm (1900 to
2600 angstroms) and feeds the signals back
to the control unit. The control unit has
four monitor lamps on the front panel which
light when a flame is present in the combustion
chamber. The PSI control unit also feeds the
requisite logic signals to the other parts
of the control cabinet.
The
PSI control unit is a simple plug to plug
exchange with the existing chassis 1. The
flame viewing heads bolt to the existing flanges
on the turbine and utilize existing cabling.
Field personnel will find that, in day to day operation,
nothing has changed except the systems requires less maintenance.
In
over 15 years of operation, exhaustive tests
by our customers have shown exceptional improvements
in turbine start capabilties, and much reduced
maintenance in terms of sight glass cleaning
and viewing tube replacement. The unit has
four major assemblies which are all field
replaceable.
